Elim Bible Facebook PageElim Bible Institute is a ministry training school in Western New York.

Elim needed help creating a strategy for using the social web for recruiting and reaching out to alumni.  I had the privilege of guiding them through a process that included the following:

  • Determining their unique value based on the one thing that sets them apart
  • Defining their target audiences and what voice to use with each
  • Setting goals for reaching alumni and re-branding Elim to alumni
  • Identifying new forms of media and communication to emphasize and invest in
  • Incubate creative campaigns that accomplish these goals

The first campaign was called “God Kicked My Butt”, a video submission contest intended to get stories from alumni and current students about their growth process and the value Elim added to their lives.  The Elim team also completed their Facebook page and quickly gained 2,000+ fans, keeping a high level of interaction among the fans.

It is an on-going process, but they have said it has greatly helped them to have an outside expert come in, make evaluations, and identify the low-hanging fruit as well as the long-term necessary changes.

Update: in March, 2011, I was brought to flesh out the new brand and marketing ideas into a new design approach. I will add new posts for the different aspects of that work soon.
